C r a n m o r e T o w e r

Hidden away in the trees overlooking East Cranmore you will find this recently restored tower with its attached cottage. Its appearance however is now rather spoiled by the two communication masts that have been erected about 300 yards away.
The tower was built by the local landowner Sir Richard Paget towards the end of the 19th century.
The attached cottage, which is situated to the right hand side of the tower in the photograph, at one time in the 1930`s saw service as a tea room, but after being derelict for many years has now become a private home.
The tower now wears a new lead roof complete with finial.

Visiting:-
The large woodland that the tower is in, has bridle ways running through it, so viewing it externally is not a problem. The tower unfortunately is not open to the public.
