D u r l s t o n C a s t l e

Here is the Durlston Castle that is mentioned in the caption underneath the photograph of 'The Globe'. It is not in any way a folly, it is merely shown as it is as an integral part of Mowlem`s 'Globe'.
This part of the side wall featuring the sundial and two stone plaques is also mentioned in the previous text, and is to be found on the pathway that leads down to the globe itself.
Despite its name, the building was never designed to be anything other than a restaurant, and has remained so since it was built.
