This is a good example of a restoration in my eyes. All to often the original material - or in many cases originals that were in fact old replacements themselves - and the newly created parts, are all matched to look the same. The end result is you have no real idea of what the structure looked like originally. Rather like comparing 'distressed' pine furniture from a showroom against authentic utilitarian pine furniture from an old house.
