Follies and Monuments - Follytowers.com
I
was contacted by Kevin from Australia in February 2008. He is planning
a visit to England in April with his wife to view the follies and
monuments we have here.
To
assist himself with this, Kevin has been through Follytowers compiling
the place marks required for a new Google Earth file, detailing virtually
all of the follies and monuments listed on this web site as of February
2008! Many of the place marks featured contain addtional photographs
and details of the follies themselves.
This
an outstanding piece of work. I would presume it took Kevin several
hours to complete, and I am delighted to present it to you here. It
is free and can be downloaded for Google Earth below.
Google
Earth Follies and Monuments.kmz.
This KMZ file is a Google Earth Saved Working Session.
It takes
advantage of a feature in Google Earth which allows Place marks to
be created, stored and circulated for general use.
Google Earth delivers a 3D digital model of the entire Earth via
the Internet. Google Earth's EarthStream technology combines
advanced 3D graphics and network streaming to produce a high-
performance system that runs on standard broadband-connected
PC's.
If you don't already have it, Google Earth is free
and can be obtained here:
